Retiree Group Endorses Wiley Nickel for Election to U.S. House

Cites His Commitment to Protecting Earned Social Security and Medicare Benefits

Raleigh – Members of the Alliance for Retired Americans proudly announced their endorsement of Wiley Nickel for election to the U.S. House of Representatives from North Carolina’s 13th Congressional District today. The North Carolina Alliance for Retired Americans is a grassroots advocacy organization with more than 54,000 members across the state.

“Wiley Nickel understands the challenges facing older Americans, and retirees in North Carolina can be confident that he will fight for our interests in Washington,” said Bill Dworkin, president of the North Carolina Alliance. “He knows that seniors have earned the Social Security and Medicare benefits they rely on, and he will battle every day to protect them from cuts. We are pleased to endorse him.”

“Wiley’s experience in the North Carolina State Senate, including serving on the Pensions and Retirement Committee, will be an asset for North Carolina seniors when he is in Congress,” Dworkin continued.

“We can also count on Wiley to fight to allow Medicare to negotiate lower prices for the life-saving prescription drugs older people rely on and expand Medicare coverage to include vision, hearing and dental care,” Dworkin added. “Voting for the candidate who will put older North Carolinians first is essential to our health and economic security.”
